When an asphalt plant is sold from Türkiye to another country, or brought into Türkiye from abroad, dismantling, shipping and installation take place in more than one country under different rules. Setrafalt dismantles, transports and installs asphalt plants of every make abroad, just as we do in Türkiye. On this page we explain what to watch out for on international projects.
The sequence of an international project
- Survey and planning: An equipment list and loading plan are prepared at the plant’s current site, and the foundations and infrastructure of the new site are checked.
- Dismantling and packing: Parts are labelled, small parts are crated, and electrical equipment is protected against moisture and impact.
- Shipping: By road, by sea or both; parts that fit in containers and parts that don’t are planned separately.
- Installation and commissioning: Mechanical and electrical installation at the new site, testing and first production.
Documents and customs
In international shipping, the list, weight and dimensions of every part must match the documents. An incomplete or inconsistent list means waiting at customs. That is why the detailed packing list prepared during dismantling is useful for both installation and customs. Documentation and customs procedures are planned according to the agreement between buyer and seller.
What to check on site
- Electrical supply: Mains voltage, frequency and connection standards may differ in the new country; the plant’s electrical system must be checked accordingly.
- Climate: In very hot or very cold climates, the installation schedule and the choice of materials are planned accordingly.
- Local equipment: The availability of cranes, forklifts and auxiliary equipment on site is confirmed in advance.
- Fuel and bitumen: The burner fuel and the bitumen grade to be used are checked for the new site.
Automation and software

Spare parts
At a site abroad, one missing part can mean days of waiting. Worn or missing parts are identified during dismantling and, on request, spare parts are included in the shipment.
